300th Post Giveaway Winner!

I know, I've been totally AWOL! You can blame that on a trip to Miami and some much needed days off. The nails are getting back to reality and hopefully my blog will too. In the meantime, I realized I never picked a winner for my 300th post giveaway! Congrats!

Dream Catcher

I'm not sure why, but the colors and feather stamping I used for this little diddy reminded me of a dream catcher. I used two coats of Cover Girl 110, a nice white base. All other fingers used two coats of China Glaze It's a Trap-eze. I love that milky jelly base just loaded with glitter.
I wanted to match the feathers somewhat to the noticeable colors in the glitter so used Color Club Endless Summer, Peace Out Purple and China Glaze Gaga for Green with the same feather image from plate OB40.
This mani received a lot more attention that usual. Are you always surprised by what grabs people's eyes and what doesn't?

Curse Like a Sailor

I really do...I guess it's just the phase that I never grew out of = /. At least I am drawn to all things nautical - the beach, military fashion, rum etc. I've been letting Orly's Mayhem Mentality just wait patiently in my drawer as I knew she was going to be a summer favorite! I wasn't wrong.
This is one coat of white underneath two coats of Mayhem Mentality. A nice formula that covered well, but as one would suspect dried matte and quickly due to the neon hue. The accent nails are one coat of white sponged with two coats of MM and Essie Turquoise & Caicos. I then stamped the anchor and wheel image from plate QA3 and Sinful Black on Black.

Jelly Gradient Attempt

So gradients are all the rage, I thought I would play with some of my jelly polishes. I was thinking I would try to recreate a perfume bottle I have from Bath & Body works. I started with two coats of Butter London Chuffed. This is a great polish to use for a gradient. Here's one from awhile back.

I then used three coats half-way up the nail of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Tealy-y Cool. It looked more opaque and teal in the bottle but didn't show on the nail as much. I then stamped the heart with Salon Express plate 21 and China Glaze Adore.
I then stamped from Bundle Monster Plate 311and Sinful Snow Me White. I wore this for so long it started to chip pretty badly. I'll have to give the jelly gradient another attempt with darker colors.
