Let the Holiday Nail Inspiration Commence!

As I sit here sipping on my peppermint mocha and enjoying the fact that I took the entire Thanksgiving week off, I realize that there is no denying the holidays are in full swing. While lights, music and all the rest of the hullabaloo makes me feel festive, I just wish we could get through freakin' Halloween before all the retailers start shoving this stuff down our throats.
I'd really like to take the week to do some crafting and get the house in order plus some awesome nail goodness! I will begin with my latest mani, and while I agree bird cages aren't festive, the Lights of Emerald City makes my holiday heart swoon.
They are like square-ly wonderful snowflakes and remind me of the sparkle once they have fallen and I may just have to use this lady again before the season comes to a close.
This is three coats of OPI Don't Burst my Bubble with one coat of Lights of Emerald City stamped with sinful Snow me White and Messy Mansion 14.

Here's some puppy paws in the snow just to make you smile ~

Chevron Nails ~ I'm Not Lion!

It is seriously 14 damn degrees in Colorado tonight agh!! I can't handle it. Considering the temps have dropped and Thanksgiving is just around the corner, I figured I better start matching the manis. I have to say this is one of my favorites. So many of you all are so creative and talented I get jealous sometimes because every creation is just stellar.

I on the other hand, am in love with a mani about every other month - glad to add this one to that short list. This is two coats of Color Club Wild Cactus. A really wonderful dark teal cream to add to the stash. I then used Sally Hansen nail guides to create the chevron design followed by a quick coat of China Glaze I'm Not Lion.
I've let her sit for far too long as well. A bit gritty but the gold glitter with holo is a winner. I used two coats of I'm Not Lion for the accent nails as well.
So, how is the winter where you are? Any tips for coping besides my fave solution of liquid warmth?

Roses Scattered & Tattered

I barely own any Barielle polishes. In fact the only reason I do is because I had a Birthday swap group months ago (I am still a bit disgruntled as it was cancelled without notice, of course after we had sent a package or two) and winning a great Facebook giveaway. Sweetly enough, the one lovely lady who I had sent a B-Day package to insisted on reciprocating (thanks Anja!).

In this superb nail mail came Barielle Falling Star. I used two coats and tried to match a stamp color to that great copper glitter suspended in the dark indigo. The winner was China Glaze Emotion and the roses from MM07.
For the accent nails I used two coats of China Glaze First Mate followed by one coat of China Glaze Scattered and Tattered. I think it's a fun little combo!

Boo-lated Halloween Mani

I know we're way into November, turkeys, cornucopias etc. I've been very behind. When it's dark out at night all I want to do is grab a glass of wine and snuggle with all my boys in front of the boob tube after work. I'm really trying to get motivated to do more nail art!

This was my real Halloween mani. Since I picked up China Glaze Howl You Doin'? it needed to be used in the appropriate manner. This is two coats of that gorgeous dark jelly. While I heart the concept of a dark purple jelly, the formula itself was a nightmare! It was like sludge. Not sure if thinner would help this little ghoul out.
Still, the orange flakie and vampy color payoff was worth the pain in applying. I then ATTEMPTED the face brush nail art technique. You know the one where you wet your brush and draw it across your nails? This was supposed to look liked candy corn. Um not. It was one coat of Cover Girl unnamed followed by Essence Be Your Sunshine followed by China Glaze Life Preserver.
