Be Merry, Be Bright

I knew if I was to only purchase one polish from the 2013 China Glaze holiday collection, it was Be Merry, Be Bright. That fuchsia and indigo hex glitter - yes please! I started with two coats of China Glaze Fancy Pants, which oddly left me with some random bald patches. I then used one coat of Be Merry, Be Bright.
I then stamped the present image as well as the hanging ornaments from Bunny Nails HD-F with Color Club Fashion Addict and Worth the Risque.
I tried to alternate the stamping colors with the ornaments but you can't see a contrast on the dark base. Not sure if the glitters were rough or this was just a topcoat devourer but I had immediate tip wear and shrinkage which makes for a grumpy me - especially after taking all that time to do a mani.
Great colors, but I just couldn't hang with them not looking perfect.

Christmas Sweater Mani

I was so excited after ordering my first Bunny Nails plate I checked the mail every day! It was a bit delayed in arriving so I was ready to rock those holiday days. As fate would have it, even with four days off before Christmas and plenty of time to create magical stories on my tips, I got a gnarly case of the flu :*(. I guess flu shots are a really good idea this time of year and I'll be sure to remember that in the future.

I was able to do this mani, and due to the constant fever and sweating these are now resting on my nails as of day 9. I hope to squeeze a few in now that I'm feeling more lively. Hope you all had an awesome holiday and got lots of nail goodies!
This is one coat of Cover Girl 110 white sponged with China Glaze Gaga for Green and Revlon Watermelon Fizz. I then stamped the tree sweater image from Bunny Nails plate HD-F with Sation Fade Out.
There's been a lot of snow, sadly, it didn't fall on Christmas but here's a pretty shot of the tree in our backyard from when it did!

Sweet Saran Wrap

The saran wrap manicure is such a simple way to do something a little different. This is my second saran wrap mani. Two coats of Zoya Alegra started the party followed by one coat of Snow Me White on my middle fingers and two coats of China Glaze Dance Baby on the accent nails.
I did one coat of Dance Baby on top of Alegra and Snow Me White then the saran wrap followed by Snow Me White on top of Dance Baby.
Stamping was done with Alegra from Bundle Monster 306 and the tree and reindeer from HBNails012.  Are you a fan of the saran wrap technique?

Let it Snowmen

Brr it has been so ridiculously cold in Colorado. I don't think I've ever felt these way below freezing temps for so long in the entire time I've lived here (my whole life to be exact). We're usually very fortunate to have fairly mild winters and snow melts quickly.
To go along with all the snow and chilly weather, I thought this snowflake/snowman nail stamping was fitting. I started with three coats of Nicole by OPI Nothing Kim-pares to Blue and whipped out an oldie (and and a goodie) in an original holo - Sally Hansen Magical Makeup nail polish in Blue Aura.

I stamped the snowflake images with Bundle Monster plate 319 and HBNails 011. On top of that I stamped the smaller snowflake images from DM 323 and the snowmen from 011 with Zoya Ibiza. Some of my nails were shorter than others so I only ended up with 3/4 of snowmen rather than the full image. These are cute and I'm still wearing it!

Thanksgiving Waterfall

I hope everyone had a great and relaxing Thanksgiving (for those who celebrate). It was a good time with family and of course the always expected random jabs here and there from the family member you know is going to hurl it at you ;) - but that's what WINE IS FOR!
 Indoor flash

So the waterfall style mani has been floating around since this summer thanks to The Nailasaurus  and I decided it was time for my first. Golds and peaches were perfect for the fall holiday.
Direct Sunlight

My canvas is two coats of Sinful Skylark and then alternating stripes with a nail art brush and Sinful Bad Chick, Maybelline Bold Gold, China Glaze Harvest Moon and Pure Ice Bare it All. Then I stamped the leaf image from MM07 using Bold Gold.
Champ wanted to see what I was taking photos of :0).

Let the Holiday Nail Inspiration Commence!

As I sit here sipping on my peppermint mocha and enjoying the fact that I took the entire Thanksgiving week off, I realize that there is no denying the holidays are in full swing. While lights, music and all the rest of the hullabaloo makes me feel festive, I just wish we could get through freakin' Halloween before all the retailers start shoving this stuff down our throats.
I'd really like to take the week to do some crafting and get the house in order plus some awesome nail goodness! I will begin with my latest mani, and while I agree bird cages aren't festive, the Lights of Emerald City makes my holiday heart swoon.
They are like square-ly wonderful snowflakes and remind me of the sparkle once they have fallen and I may just have to use this lady again before the season comes to a close.
This is three coats of OPI Don't Burst my Bubble with one coat of Lights of Emerald City stamped with sinful Snow me White and Messy Mansion 14.

Here's some puppy paws in the snow just to make you smile ~

Chevron Nails ~ I'm Not Lion!

It is seriously 14 damn degrees in Colorado tonight agh!! I can't handle it. Considering the temps have dropped and Thanksgiving is just around the corner, I figured I better start matching the manis. I have to say this is one of my favorites. So many of you all are so creative and talented I get jealous sometimes because every creation is just stellar.

I on the other hand, am in love with a mani about every other month - glad to add this one to that short list. This is two coats of Color Club Wild Cactus. A really wonderful dark teal cream to add to the stash. I then used Sally Hansen nail guides to create the chevron design followed by a quick coat of China Glaze I'm Not Lion.
I've let her sit for far too long as well. A bit gritty but the gold glitter with holo is a winner. I used two coats of I'm Not Lion for the accent nails as well.
So, how is the winter where you are? Any tips for coping besides my fave solution of liquid warmth?

Roses Scattered & Tattered

I barely own any Barielle polishes. In fact the only reason I do is because I had a Birthday swap group months ago (I am still a bit disgruntled as it was cancelled without notice, of course after we had sent a package or two) and winning a great Facebook giveaway. Sweetly enough, the one lovely lady who I had sent a B-Day package to insisted on reciprocating (thanks Anja!).

In this superb nail mail came Barielle Falling Star. I used two coats and tried to match a stamp color to that great copper glitter suspended in the dark indigo. The winner was China Glaze Emotion and the roses from MM07.
For the accent nails I used two coats of China Glaze First Mate followed by one coat of China Glaze Scattered and Tattered. I think it's a fun little combo!

Boo-lated Halloween Mani

I know we're way into November, turkeys, cornucopias etc. I've been very behind. When it's dark out at night all I want to do is grab a glass of wine and snuggle with all my boys in front of the boob tube after work. I'm really trying to get motivated to do more nail art!

This was my real Halloween mani. Since I picked up China Glaze Howl You Doin'? it needed to be used in the appropriate manner. This is two coats of that gorgeous dark jelly. While I heart the concept of a dark purple jelly, the formula itself was a nightmare! It was like sludge. Not sure if thinner would help this little ghoul out.
Still, the orange flakie and vampy color payoff was worth the pain in applying. I then ATTEMPTED the face brush nail art technique. You know the one where you wet your brush and draw it across your nails? This was supposed to look liked candy corn. Um not. It was one coat of Cover Girl unnamed followed by Essence Be Your Sunshine followed by China Glaze Life Preserver.

It's All Just a Bunch of Hocus Pocus

Why yes, I am watching the greatest Halloween movie of All. Time. Hocus Pocus! It never gets old, it always make me feel festive and it's definitely a tradition for me. My Dad took me to see the flick back when it was in theaters so it's always had a special place in my heart. So funny at the time we were the only ones in the theater and now it's a total cult classic.
To round out all Hallow's Eve, I have this mani to share. I thought that Hard Candy Jubilee was pretty much the quintessential Halloween polish. With it's murky green, black hex glitter and orange bar glitter it made the cut.
This was two coats with the accent nails stamping from BM-305 and Sinful Snow Me White.

Have a safe and awesome evening, and of course, don't light any black flame candles!

Don't you just hate when you stare at all your polish, then your bare nails, back at your polish? Sometimes I just go into a daze trying to think of what color and art concoction I'd like to try. This is how this "holo"ween mani came about. I decided well why not use all holographic nail polish.

I started with a free-hand glob of that gorgeous Glitter Gal not another red on my accent fingers. Once dry I then did the top half with China Glaze Virtual Violet. I then used three coats of China Glaze Gamer Glam on the rest of my nails.
Direct Sunlight

Black on Black is seriously my go-to black polish. It's cheap and gets the job done. I used the castle from Bundle Monster plate 305. I used the bat image from BM 301 on my middle finger and Viva La Nails Halloween stickers (it now appears they only make these in water decals which are actually much easier for me to work with) for my pointer and pinkie - set 535.
I'm very happy with these and could live with holo-ween :).

A Little Monsters Inc.

The beginning of the Halloween manis! Mwahahahhahah ~ While I'm not that great at free-hand nailart I try to interpret themes, holidays etc. as best I can. I saw a few killer Hocus Pocus manis and about shed a tear because they were so beautiful :p.
This the first of a few of October's manis. Of course green and purple are in the mix for Halloween. I started with two coats of Revlon french tip duos in Moonstruck. This is a soft purple with silver shimmer. I then stamped with Ulta 3 Frog Prince and konad plate m63.
I then topped it off with a coat of NYX Super Funk. The purple dots for some reason reminded me of Sully from Monsters Inc. Although I now realized it I would have done blue and purple I would have been "spot" on. Do you give free-hand a whirl or stick to stamping and other techniques?
