I was just perusing my blog to see the last time I did a watermarble, um apparently it was September 2010?! What is wrong with me? I got this amazing dress on sale at Target and the colors really made me think it would be a good marble combo. I started with one coat of Sinful Neon Melon thinking that would be my neon punch of color - I guess I've used it too much and there was def. not enough in the bottle to do a full marble. I kept that one coat base then used China Glaze First Mate, Sunshine Pop and I'm with the Lifeguard.
Seriously, why don't I do this more? Maybe it is the sadness of parting with so much polish, but the result is always nearly car accident inducing.

Rockin' Retro - Mr. Bubble Mani
I've been salivating over Lush Lacquer's Etsy store for quite awhile now. I've been low in the bank account department so I was really happy when I had a few extra dollars after my Birthday. I purchased three of her polishes, one being a childhood love ~ Mr. Bubble! Did you all use the awesomeness that was this tub happy sensation?
Here's my throwback to the man himself, Mr. Bubble!!

Ditto Design: Mermaid Nails
I'd like to preface this post with the fact that the world is a much sadder place since yesterday's horrendous act in my state. I can't stop thinking about the poor people who suffered, and even lost their lives, because of a disgusting, delusional person. My prayers and thoughts are with you Aurora, CO.
When I saw Copy that Copy Cat's Mermaid Nails I knew I wanted to recreate them, lucky for me she did a tutorial! I started with two coats of OPI Your Web or Mine? A very pretty pink metallic polish that was opaque with one coat. I added a second to try and smooth some of the random rough patches I was getting underneath. Not sure if it is the sad state of my nails after a harsh glitter, or the polish.
I then sponged on a thick coat of Color Club's Untamed Luxury. After that was dry, I hand painted "scales" with a StripeRite black polish. While my scales need a bit of work - I'm so happy with the finished product and dazed out staring at it the entire time I had this mani.

A Lovely Secret Mattified
Essence A Lovely Secret truly is a lovely secret as it hides pretty purple shimmer in its lilac base. This is two coats of A Lovely Secret. I thought Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Princess Cut flakie would really complement the polish. Too bad the flakies did not present well with this as a base coat. This is two thick coats of Princess Cut. I then pondered if Essie's matte topcoat would make the hidden shimmer and flakies take center stage. Oops it hid all the greatness of this polish =*(.
This is a really pretty color and I didn't mind it, but the final result lacked that luster I usually like to show off.

Designer Labels ~ LV
Once I got my awesome designer plate KD12 that included an LV image, I thought why not go the classic route? This is two coats of China Glaze Mahogany Magic stamped with China Glaze Midnight Kiss. I then used a dotting tool to create the little crosses with Midnight Kiss.

Icing Hit the Lights
I heart neons and glitter so when I spotted Icing's new summer GLITTER NEONS I was a goner. I wanted to use Hit the Lights first as it appears to be a super almost glow in the dark highlighter yellow. I did not use a base color under the glitter and I just may because it was so stinking hard to remove (even with 5 minutes of foil removal eek!).
This is four coats of Hit the Lights stamped with the flower from the Salon Express plate 21 and special konad hot pink polish. It really did glow in the sunlight though!

Festive Fourth
Happy Independence Day my U.S. friends! So nice to have a random day off in the middle of the week. This mani popped into my head the other day and I think I executed fairly well. Also the holiday has me reminiscing about this time last year when we got our little Champ Monster puppy. Look how that hairy, crazy thing has grown =D. We won't have any fireworks because of our hire fire danger and the recent wildfire tragedies. If I see anyone lighting those things I will tackle them straight up! Have a safe and fun day~
Two coats of snow me white with Sally Chevon Guides and one thick coat of Ulta Bombshell. Index finger has two coats of Color Club Worth the Risque with one coat of OPI Gone Gonzo.
