Ditto Design: Vintage Cherries

There are so many talented bloggers and ladies that have graced the interweb with their gorgeous, fun and unique nail art designs. Between following all of your blogs and browsing Pinterest, I pick up so many great inspirations. I've decided to start a series called Ditto Designs. This means I'll be picking a great design and either replicating it or somehow giving it a twist of my flavor. However you spin it, YOU help me create these manis. First up: Happy Berry Naiad's Vintage Cherries.

Original ~

I used two coats of Orly Jealous Much? for the base then used Sinful Colors White Striper in Bad Chick for the lines. I then used Sinful Snow Me White to stamp the white lace image from m57, Zoya Alegra with a dotter for the cherries and a nail art brush in Ulta 3 Frog Prince for the steps. On my index and thumb I used three coats of China Glaze Love Letters. I was so happy with this and wore it for over a week!

Nail Bliss Bling Review

Oh me and my animal prints, ever since 7th grade a zebra or cheetah anything pulls my like a force field. When I saw this Nail Bliss Bling appliques at Sally's I was dunzo for sure. I nabbed the Zebra and Cheetah, we couldn't let one sit there lonely without the other now could we? I didn't want to spend a ton of time on nailart or concocting a mani so this was the perfect solution. As with most appliques, they stuck on and the excess filed off easily.

I was surprised when it encouraged a topcoat since there are little gems, but I couldn't tell a difference once it was added and felt better about the decals staying on longer. I stared at these non-stop, they really grab a line of vision! I wore them for a good solid four days when some of the edges started coming up. But with shower, dishes and the like, I thought they held up nicely. The adhesive was pretty strong I felt kinda queasy pulling them off, but remover took the remainder of the glue fine. I really liked these for a quick, elaborate looking nail design and would purchase them again!

Orly Pastel Gradient

I've been so delighted to see all of these gorgeous gradients coming out of the woodwork. I would have never thought to start with a base of one of the gradient colors and use the same color on  a makeup sponge so thanks to all you awesome ladies who have shared the knowledge. This wasn't quite as smooth of a gradient as I was hoping for, but the chunky glitter may have dinged it up a bit.

I alternated base coats for each nail between Orly Faint of Heart and Prelude to a Kiss. I then used a makeup sponge to create a gradient of the opposite color. Faint of Heart was a nice one coater while I used two coats for the base of Prelude to a Kiss. I then glitterized with Essence Space Queen.
On a side note my little Champ Monster (yes he deserves every bit of his middle name) turned 1! I bought him a yumm special dog birthday bone covered in sprinkles, of course big bro got half. It smelled like a vanilla cookie to me!

Watermelon Fizz Flakie

This red smelly yum has been sitting on the shelf since last summer. Revlon's limited edition "scented parfume" polishes all have little flakie glitters suspended in colored jelly bases. This is three coats of Watermelon Fizz, a red jelly polish with red flakies that flash mostly red and some gold. A very pretty polish that grabs the eye.

I thought a turquoise would make a nice accent nail. Two coats of Essie Turquoise & Caicos stamped with China Glaze Ruby Pumps and plate m78. This image is awesome because it reminds me of a watermarble. The scent lasted for about a day. Do you own any of these polishes?

A Country-Style Celebration

So my darling husband's birthday is in April. He has been a country music fan his whole life and decided that Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill was THE place to celebrate this year's turning of age. To celebrate his day of birth, an appropriate mani was in order. This is two coats of Nina Ultra Pro Mermaid, a light yellow-green shimmer worth one coat of Claire's Bedazzled with one more layer of mermaid on top. As we all know this subdued glitter sandwich look has been very popular and I am among the fans.

My index finger was three coats of Essence Sweet as Candy, an extremely pale sheer pink, stamped with the mini cupcakes from plate m14, Color Club Love 'Em, Leave 'Em for the liners and a mixture of konad special baby blue, light purple and hot pink for the cakes with the two larger cupcakes added to my thumb.

The bar had nachos the size of my torso and lip-smacking spirits. A great time for all, especially the B-Day boy!

I'm a Pool for Love

You'd think a polish named after a pool would have a blue/green/turquoise base. Not this vixeny vivation (yes I just made that word up). This dark luring beauty has been staring at me from the shelf for awhile so I gave her a whirl. This is two coats of NOPI I'm a Pool for Love. A deep dark purple with duochrome glitter that flashes purple, blue and gold/brown. Just an FYI I put DOWN the new Sally Hansen 2012 Limited Edition Loves-me-not because I swear it is a dupe.
If you don't have this NOPI then pickup SH Love-me-not, about the same price. I then stamped the small flowery vine from m62 with China Glaze Adore. This metallic blue was so nice she went on in one swoop on my accent nails. I then used I'm a Pool for You to stamp these beautiful rose images from fauxnad plate K05.
