Hey ladies! Don't forget to enter my HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY! I only have 15 people signed up =O. I decided to take on the hour+ of my life to do another water marble. I was pretty sure I wanted blue but nothing that was too close on the color wheel. I finally decided on an unnamed deep blue shimmer from N.Y.C., Orly Gumdrop and China Glaze Swing Baby for some sparkle-goodness. In the past I've used just one color for the base of all my nails. I decided to experiment and alternate all three colors as the base before the marble. These polishes all marbled really nicely and spread out how they should have. I'm really happy with the results!
I could definitely tell which finger had which base because that was the most prominent color. I'm hoping to do some tutorials soon but I need to buy a tripod for my video camera. It seems the marble technique is going fairly mainstream these days since I noticed it was featured in this month's issue of Glamour.

This is so pretty! I love see water marbled nails! You did a great job on this mani!
ReplyDeleteGreat marbling! The colors you chose are so pretty. I love the way marbling looks, but I just can't bring myself to sit through doing it.
ReplyDeletelove the color! =) well done!
ReplyDeleteLooks great.
ReplyDeleteI still need to experiment with marbling.
I love the watermarble and the idea of alternating base coat. I need to make time to try this myself as I've only marbled with a brush. The touch of glitter is an awesome addition.
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome!! I love water marbling.
ReplyDeleteoh, i love the colors! the mani is so awesome :)
ReplyDeleteI have no talent in water marbling! LOL! I've tried several times and I just end up with a mess. :(
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, love the colors!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much ladies! It certainly is time consuming, but I'm usually pleased with the results. I just hate seeing all that polish go to waste =*(.
ReplyDeleteLove that you included a shimmer in your marbling. If you don't want to waste polish maybe find cheaper alternatives to the colors you like to marble with?
