Another Party Hearty Mani

I seriously cannot fathom that is going to be 2011 tonight. I always have such a hard time writing the date after the year changes. Time flies by!!! Overall 2010 was a pretty good year, let's hope 2011 is even better. We're going to be Sister-in-Law and her fiance's for a small get together. We're making some yummy dinner and then champagne cocktailing the night away. Do you have any big plans? I was sad I didn't get to use China Glaze Party Hearty for my Christmas mani so I did it right after. I know, I know you've seen this polish a gazillion times but man she is a knockout!

I used a basecoat and two coats of a delicious vampy green, Ulta Green With Envy. It's a dark shimmery green. I then used one coat of Party Hearty on top. I was surprised I didn't have to use two. That vampy green made all the red, green and gold glitter really stand out. I topped it off with Rimmel's 60 Second TC. I could wear this for a few more days but of course I have to have a special New Year's mani! What are you looking forward to in 2011?

Swap With 'Chelle of Cosmetic Cupcake

I'm so glad I only have to work one more day this week! It's a really slow time of year and I'm going a bit crazy with not a lot to do. The fantastic 'Chelle of Cosmetic Cupcake posted some ridiculous yum Glitter Gal holos back in September that I had to have. I emailed her to see if she'd be willing to do a swap. Since I was so poor we decided December would be best to do it. I got her package the day before Christmas Eve and it was wonderful to open all of her goodies! Let me tell you, she went way overboard and sent me entirely too much =D. Thanks doll!

She wrote me a nice note and included lots of tasty treats!

I've been dying to get my hands on a Hello Kitty plate and am so excited!!

Fill My Stocking Mani~

I don't know about you, but I seriously can't believe Christmas is OVER! All that preparation and whoosh, it's gone just like that. Did you all get some awesome haulage? Between some giveaway winnings, a swap, and Christmas I have some major goodies! This was my Christmas mani, it was supposed to be Party Hearty, but I was late to the party and couldn't get it done.

This is a BC and three coats of the red glitter jelly China Glaze Mrs. Claus topped off with a coat of Rimmel's 60 sec. TP. This polish just explodes in low lighting, I really like it! I used Konad special white to stamp the little full stocking images. Hoping you all had a great holiday!

Silver Bells

My honey bought me this gorg green polish, Sally Hansen Xtreme in Emerald City. It's this wonderful green cream with a lot of shimmer. I used a basecoat and two coats. I've been trying to use all of the fun images from my eBay purchased plates for the holidays so I used this cute double bell stamp image with Sally Hansen Xtreme Celeb City, which is a foil-like silver. It was pretty hard to photograph, this was the best I could do. I topped it off with Rimmel's 60 Second Dry Top Coat.

Sorry for the tip wear, I waited three days to take some pictures. What is at the top of your Christmas List? I always have so much more fun watching everyone else open what I got for them.

Naughty & Nice + Blitzen

YAY I'm finally on Christmas vacation! I've also realized I have way more Christmas polishes than days until the actual holiday. I'm trying to use the China Glaze Naughty & Nice collection I have stored up. I started with a BC and two coats of this delicious dark wine jelly. It needed a bit extra so I free-handed half of my nail with Wet N' Wild's Blitzen.

It's a gold micro glitter with some red hex glitter in a clear base. It almost made my tips cloudy. I topped it off with Rimmel's 60 Second Top Coat. Are you excited for the holidays? I can't believe they are already here.

Hello Kitty Heaven

DUDE! I just received a Beauty Insider email from Sephora and they are going to carry a new line of Hello Kitty cosmetics including...wait for it...nail polish in a freakin Hello Kitty shaped bottle!!!!!!! AGH!! I need this. I'm dying because it is Christmas and I cannot spend anymore money on myself. Truth be told I want the Pink Sprinkles color the most and it isn't in stock so maybe it all worked out for the best. It says it will release online and in stores mid-January. Insiders are only getting a preview through tomorrow. Check all the goodies out here.

Super Festive Mani!

Soooo, This was an entry I worked ridiculously hard on for a Christmas contest, guess what? She never received my email either and I wasn't included in the entrants. WTF?! This is seriously the second time this has happened and I'm totally over it. Anyhoo, I still rocked this fabu mani for six days.

For the pinkie and pointer I used OPI Ali's Big Break mini, then swirled with Sinful striper in Bad Chick. I topped it off with Sally Hansen Diamonds. For my index, middle and thumb I started with three coats of Claire's smelly polish in Vanilla Ice Cream. It is a shimmery white cream with micro glitter and sparse hex glitter (it smelled delicious). On my index finger I stamped the holly image with Sally Hansen Emerald City and Ali's Big Break. I then used LA Splash nail glitter in Tropic Teal. I stamped my middle finger with Ali's Big Break then did a coat of Sinful All About You. My thumb, I stamped the tree with Emerald City then topped off with an Icing glitter (no name since the bottle broke and I had to decant into a new bottle). I have some major wrapping to do today bleck~

Flower Contest Entry - Voting Open

Long time no show manis girls! The reason? I have been working on two art contests and didn't want to post until voting was open. This one was Nail Art World's Flower-themed contest.

Voting is live now, bad news, even though I sent my entry in way early it wasn't included in the entries. It was added after the fact so if you would be nice enough to vote for me, you'll have to leave a comment on the gallery instead of choosing a number off the poll =*(. Sounds like an uphill battle to me, I was so proud of this one too, I thought I had a chance!

I had a hard time deciding but went with Color Club Twiggie as a base - LOVE LOVE LOVE. I really think this is my favorite color. I then used konad psyche pink and the flowery image from konad plate m56 on my pinkie and pointer fingers. I used a gorgeous metallic fuchsia stripe rite to draw the smile lines. I then used the striper to draw leaves on my middle finger and added a flower rhinestone from an Essence pack I had. I glued on an acrylic hot pink flower with rhinestone center I had on my index finger then free handed the flower on my thumb with Sinful's Bad Chick white striper and outline it with the pink. I added a rhinestone in the middle from the same Essence pack. Lastly I shook up my awesome Out The Door Northern Lights hologram topcoat. I couldn't seem to photograph it right but it was fantastic!

Hauly Haul

Yay Zoya's spoon promo has gone live early! I just ordered my spoons. The only glitch was that you still have to enter a CC number, but it won't be charged. Check out their Facebook Page for more info. I've had this haul for awhile now and just needed to post it. I'm sad because I have so many Christmas polishes, these babies will have to wait!

China Glaze Lubu Heels, Icing Party Hardy , Sally Hansen Diamonds, CND Effects Amethyst Sparkle

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Emerald City, Icing Blackout, Nina Ultra Pro Purple-Xing and Sinful See You Soon.

These are all so gorgeous! I was able to use Purple-Xing in a recent contest entry and let me tell you she is one of my absolute favorites!

Marble-icious

Hey ladies! Don't forget to enter my HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY! I only have 15 people signed up =O. I decided to take on the hour+ of my life to do another water marble. I was pretty sure I wanted blue but nothing that was too close on the color wheel. I finally decided on an unnamed deep blue shimmer from N.Y.C., Orly Gumdrop and China Glaze Swing Baby for some sparkle-goodness. In the past I've used just one color for the base of all my nails. I decided to experiment and alternate all three colors as the base before the marble. These polishes all marbled really nicely and spread out how they should have. I'm really happy with the results!

I could definitely tell which finger had which base because that was the most prominent color. I'm hoping to do some tutorials soon but I need to buy a tripod for my video camera. It seems the marble technique is going fairly mainstream these days since I noticed it was featured in this month's issue of Glamour.

First Ruffian Mani ~

Yowza, I really need to do some cleaning, but it's so not motivating when you're home alone! I hate that the man works Saturdays and we can't spend two days together. I made my first attempt at a ruffian mani for Thanksgiving. I was envisioning some rich fall colors. I used two coats of Sally Hansen's Hi Definition nail color in Hue. This is a bright beautiful yellow gold with gold shimmer. I then free-handed the top part of the mani with China Glaze's Riveter Rouge from the Vintage Vixen collection. I've never really been into reds, but this one is fantastic! She's more of a maroonish red with glorious gold glitter.

I had the bright idea to stamp the leaf image from konad plate m56 with China Glaze Classic Camel on my tips to make it even more Thanksgiving-ish. It appeared very lightly and wasn't what I expected stamping with the thick and opaque, Classic Camel. I still think it turned out very festive! I need to work on this technique a bit as I always have a problem using nail guides too early and peeling off my base polish so either my patience or free-hand needs to improve!~ Have you done a ruffian? Do you use guides or free-hand?

Hey ladies! I wanted to show my sincere appreciation for all of my followers, since we're nearing the holidays I wanted to spread a little polish cheer. I now have an extra bottle of China Glaze's Party Hearty since I picked it up for a swap with miss 'Chelle from Cosmetic Cupcake, but she's been haulin' away and already had this polish which means I get to give it to someone else! I also have an awesome trio pack of E.L.F. holiday polishes. One is a clear base full of gorgeous snow-like looking glitter, the second a clear base with hex and micro gold glitter and the third is a red cream with micro red glitter. Since two global gals won my first two giveaways I wanted to keep this in my hood, U.S. residents aged 18 or older please (also I want to make sure the winner can use these by their appropriate celebrated holiday)!

Rules~

* Leave a comment with your GFC follower name and an email address where I can reach you if you're the winner (Both above = 1 entry)

All my giveaways come out of my pocket and I want this to go to someone who really deserves it. Entries will close at Midnight Mountain Standard Time on December 14, 2010. Once I announce the winner they have 48 hours to respond or I'll choose someone else. And away we gooo....

Southbeach Ice French

Yo! So I just took the dog for a quick walk and it is FrIgId CoLd outside! I'm excited because tonight me and the honey are going to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the famous Rockettes ~ yippee! I love stuff like this, it really gets me geared up for the holidays. I wanted to do some form of a funky french with Zoya's Southbeach Ice since she's so sheer. I used my standard BC and three coats of this timid girl. This is a clear/baby blue base with light blue baby flakie type glitters.

I then used konad plate m19 for the french tip (which I am still trying to master since I have midget hands!) and white special polish. I added cute little oblong light blue rhinestones from Viva La Nails on my middle and index fingers, sealed it with China Glaze Fast Forward and viola ~ I was hoping to get some direct sun shots since this really shined but wasn't able to, boo...

Wishing everyone who celebrates it an amazing Thanksgiving!

Hey Doll + Twist

Oh Saturday, how I love thee when I have nothing to do! I should clean a bit but relaxing comes first =D. I absolutely can't believe Thanksgiving is next week!! Which reminds that I have completely neglected my fall polishes, especially from China Glaze. I went for Hey Doll, this is a creamy auburn brown with shimmer, she really glows in the sun. I used a coat of Seche Rebuild, BC, then two coats of the polish. I wanted to stamp with a holo so I used Color Club's peach-orange Love 'Em and Leave 'Em. I used the twist and loop looking design from plate m63.

It was really pretty and simple looking to me. Of course direct sunlight turns the volume up on this but I wasn't able to get outside before I removed this one. Enjoy the day chicas!

Metallic Hearts

Oh Monday you come so fast! Thankfully I worked the Veteran's Day holiday so I could spend the day with my babe today instead. He has Sunday and Monday off so it's nice to actually have two days with him. Last week was the party and final retirement celebration for our company's current CEO & President. He has been with our company for 20 years and wanted a big sending off party. I would call over 500 people a big send off for sure. I wanted my mani to match my outfit. I had some sparkle going on and my nails needed to match.

I used a coat of Seche Rebuild, a BC and two coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Celeb City. This is a very metallic silver and opaque in two coats. I also wore my favorite piece of jewelry, a huge heart necklace with Swarovski crystals, so I knew I needed to incorporate hearts. I used the heart french tip design from konad plate m56 and konad's hot pink polish. I then added cute heart rhinestones from an Essence pack I hauled a few months back on my index fingers. The pink wasn't as bright on the silver as I thought but this was still cute and I wore it for over five days. Do you have any special occasions coming up that require an extra special mani? Wishing everyone a great day!

Itsy Zoya Haul

So I absolutely had to take advantage of the Zoya BOGO sale. I did a pretty good job of keeping it small as I ended up with only four polishes. From left to right Southbeach Ice, Valerie, Savita and Kiki. Holy cow all these colors are so bright and beautiful, I can't wait to use them! The only one I was a little surprised with was Southbeach Ice, it is more more green than blue like it appeared on my screen. It's also very sheer so needs to be used for layering or french manis.

Rock & Roll Challenge Entry ~ Voting Open!

Hiya girls! Just a quick post to let you know voting is open for The Laquerista's Rock & Roll Challenge. I won't go into detail about this mani as the top three voted get a guest post on her blog. Please go vote ~ Thank you! XOXO

Color It Red Contest Entry ~ Voting Open

Hola chicas! I just got done with a Zumba class that I'm taking with a co-worker. Super fun but somtimes I totally lose the steps and look like a damn fool. Oh well =D. So Simply Rins is running a nail art contest in honor of her blog's one year anniversary, the catch is the main color used has to be her favorite ~ RED. I was able to submit the below entry. I think the contest is unique because everyone is able to vote for three! Take a look at all the entries here.

I used a base coat and two coats of Sinful's Tokyo Pearl on all my nails which is a metallic white cream. I then free-handed a diagonal line with BYS red crackle polish at the top of my nail. I was really hoping the crackles would go crazy and show the white underneath but it didn't work very well. I then painted the bottom half of my nail with China Glaze Ruby Pumps and free-handed a line with Stripe Rite black, red and blue glitter. Lastly I stamped the "frilly" image from pate m57 in konad black. On my accent fingers I stamped the zebra design from konad plate m57, the bow from konad plate m56 with konad black polish, added a red rhinestone and used China Glaze Fast Forward to seal them all up! The only thing is I don't think this TC is supposed to go with crackle polish because it chipped the very next day *sad face*. Now I have to work an another entry. Happy weekend and please go vote!

Happy Halloween Mani!!

Yay it's finally Halloween! We're still recovering from last night yuck. I am watching my favorite Halloween movie Hocus Pocus and getting ready to hand out candy to all the kids in their cute costumes. I used the last polish in China Glaze's Awakening Collection, Mummy May I. Definitely my favorite of the bunch but my polishes must have had something wrong with my batch because it was soo goopy. I may have to add some thinner to it. I used two coats of Mummy May I, a black jelly with purple glitter. After seeing a Day in the Life of Doll Face's awesome spider web mani I knew I wanted to do a mini one.

I didn't look at hers again before I did mine and I should have. I used Sinful's striper white Bad Chick to free hand the webs. I needed more lines to make the webs look better but I'm happy with the quick job I did. The cleanup was pretty hard, I'll finish in the shower. Everyone have a great night and don't scare yourself silly with all the movies and shows on TV!

Claire's Glow in the Dark

Hey guys I can't wait for Halloween! I got free tickets to the local college football team and tailgate tent plus we're going to the neighbor's Halloween party. Should be an eventful evening to say the least. I just hope I can wake up on Sunday =). I wanted to share with you one of Claire's Glow in the Dark polishes. It is a baby hot pink in the bottle full of pastel glitters. It looks like it would be really bright but it's ridiculously sheer so I decided to do three coats over a base coat and one coat of Sinful Snow Me White.

It looks like a very light pink with some glitter even over the white. I kept trying to take photos in the dark to show the "glow" but it just wasn't happening. Just close your eyes and imagine a fluorescent green and yellow in the dark heehee ~ Be safe everyone and have an amazing night!

Giveaway Drama for Your Mama ~ Long

Ok guys, I need to put something out there. I am dealing with some drama on the Halloween contest giveaway. I just wanted everyone to know what had happened, how I came to my decision, and I hope everyone sees that my decision is valid and warranted. Here's the skinny ~

I made my call for entrants on the Halloween giveaway contest, I wasn't as detailed or as clear as I should have been since I didn't exactly know what I was even looking for. After Triszha of Fab Ur Nails asked a few questions about entries being original or not I specified publicly in comments that my entrants had to be Halloween inspired and could only exist previously on your own personal blog, not other contests, giveaways etc. After receiving everyone's entries and posting them before making my final decisions I received an email from Triszha letting me know that some of the girls shouldn't be finalists because they had used the art for other contests. I appreciate her concern, but thankfully there wasn't any conflict because the finalists chosen didn't fall into this category.

When it came time to vote, I was very vague and just asked everyone to vote, winner would be chosen by most votes period as that is all I explained in my original post. Then Triszha started emailing me telling me there were multiple blogger profiles that were blocked and that they shouldn't be counted because people had the ability to cheat. I am very trusting of people and this hadn't even occurred to me until Triszha started emailing me. I was a little tipsy when she emailed me and I said that could be very unfair and I wouldn't count the "blocked profiles." When all the votes were in I discounted the "blocked profiles" because of Triszha's email, when in reality if she hadn't emailed me I would have counted the blocked votes because a vote is a vote from a profile and I hadn't specified otherwise. So not counting "blocked profiles" Triszha won, counting ALL votes that weren't after Midnight on Wednesday Rins won by three. I had pre-written an email to Triszha letting her know she was the winner which I sent too quickly last night, after thinking about it and talking to my husband we agreed I was being unfair and I handled the situation poorly. If Triszha hadn't of emailed me, as well as her friend, and kept bringing things to my attention it would have been based on votes alone. Therefore I thought it was wrong as did some other people I talked to. Within 35 minutes I emailed Triszha letting her know I felt I breached my OWN contest rules by not counting votes alone and that Rins should truly be the winner. She said she was fine with that, but she isn't, which on one hand I completely understand because I made the huge mistake of emailing her and letting her know she won and then retracted it. She has emailed me multiple times saying that other people cheated, but that can't be proven. She's now posted a blog about this even though she said she understood. I stand by my decision to make Rins the winner based on votes alone. In the future I agree my contests should be run differently so there aren't ANY questions about who the winner is. Now Rins feels pressured to relinquish her win and I don't think that's right. Please let me know if you think this is fair, if not then I will come up with a solution but no other contestant was emailing me "whispering in my ear" per say. I feel horribly about this whole thing and am just trying to be fair to everyone. I toyed with the thought of a Runner Up prize because of this but now I feel she is trying to guilt me into making her the winner. What do you think? I'm really discouraged and feel like I don't even want to do anything like this in the future...

Drumroll Please...

After counting all the votes, the winner of my Halloween Giveaway and Contest by three is Rina of  Simply Rins! Thanks to everyone who participated and voted, I really enjoyed seeing all of these great designs!! I've emailed Rina to let her know. Happy early Halloween girlies ~

Ick-a-Body is Icky to Remove

Only four more days until Halloweenie and a few more hours until voting ends for my giveaway! If you haven't voted, please do so. I planned on doing something exciting with Ick-a-Body as a base but time was not on my side last week so here it is with just a base coat, two coats (I probably should have done three) and a top coat of China Glaze Fast Forward. I do like the polish, it's a clear black base with a booty-load of orange glitter.

I kept it on for four days and when I realized I wasn't going to do much more with this mani I took it off. No bueno! I soaked each nail in acetone for at least a minute each and still had to scrub. It's pretty, but not pretty to remove. Also to get more in the mood I bought a haunted gingerbread house, it was a bit messy and black icing was everywhere but I think the end result is extra cute!

What are you doing to get in the Halloween spirit?

Zombie Zest Halloween Mani

I know, I know you've all seen this mean green! To be honest I didn't even want this polish in this collection but it's turned out to be the most unique one in the set I think! I used one coat of Seche Rebuild a BC and three coats of Zombie Zest. I thought it was going to be a rough glitter but it's smooth shimmer goodness. I decided this needed a little more Halloween so I added some "slime" with a dotting tool and Savvy Ebony Black.

I then dug out some cute Halloween stickers I've had sitting in my stash since last year. The stickers are the smoothest and longest lasting ones I've used so far. I topped it off with a coat of China Glaze Fast Forward. Which polish is your favorite for Halloween manis?
